Assignment Rules

  1. Any up-to-date paid member may enter the assignment contests.
  2. All entries must be submitted via the LVPC gallery.
  3. Only one (1) submission per member is allowed.  Additional entries will be deleted.
  4. The photo must have been taken for the assignment.  Photos for a given assignment may be taken at any time between the announcement of the topic and 7PM on the last day of the month for which the assignment is valid.
  5. If you require assistance posting your photo, please contact the forum administrator for help.
  6. Assignment entries will be accepted during the month of the assignment.  The gallery will open on or about the first of the month and will be closed at 7PM on the last day of the month.
  7. Submitted entries must be named with the assignment name and the next number in order.  For example, during the month of the “Self Portrait” assignment, the first submission should be named “Self Portrait 001″, the second “Self Portrait 002″, and so on.
  8. Voting will start immediately following the submission period and last for 10 days ending on the 10th of the following month at 7 PM.
  9. Votes will be conducted via a poll thread in the members-only section of the forums.
  10. As with submissions, any up-to-date paid member may vote.  All are encouraged to vote, even those who have not submitted photos that month.
  11. Voting for your own photo is allowed.
  12. No comments are to be left in the poll post.  There will be a separate thread to leave comments on photos.
  13. Votes will be counted by the Digital-Slide Chairperson and confirmed by the President.
  14. The winner will be notified and the winning photo may be posted on the main LVPC web site as well as the LVPC Flickr group page.
  15. The monthly assignment contest is in no way intended to replace any photo contest associated with the club at club functions or meetings.  Rules for those other contests may be different and will have their requirements posted separately.
  16. This contest is intended as a way for all members to see and learn different ideas from other members and better their own photography.
  17. All photos submitted to the contests are to be anonymous.  No descriptions or EXIF/IPTC data should be included that could identify the poster.  The photo should speak for itself.
  18. Gallery submissions are limited in size.  The current restrictions are 1280 pixels on the longest size and a total of 2MB in size.
  19. The winning photo may be displayed on the LVPC SmugMug site.
