Our first contest is Beach Baby!! This contest is open to members who have not previously won. Show us your vacation photos. They don’t need to include a beach (or a baby), however they should feature a central subject. Come on, show us your vacation photos, even if that “vacation” was only an afternoon hike. There are a lot of good websites out there that address taking good vacation photos, for those of you who may need some help with this assignment.
The second contest is Amazing Ansel. Ansel Adams was a premier photographer who photographed many of our national parks, often in stunning black and white. So for those of you looking for a challenge, here it is. Study the techniques Ansel Adams used and submit your best “Ansel-ish” photo. Later this month I will be posting some links to websites containing his work. Your work should be in black and white and should feature element reminiscent of his work. Good luck with this assignment.
How about posting instructions (for us old film and darkroom people) on HOW to submit our photos. I have to scan my prints into my computer and then I am at a loss as to how to enter your monthly contests. At least one (me) of your members does not shoot digital,
